In a year of enormous challenges such as 2020, Lamborghini met important goals and is now looking at 2021 with prospects of strong growth.
The 2020 that the brand experienced was recorded as its second-best year ever, as well as being the year with the highest profitability rate ever achieved. A total of 7,430 vehicles were delivered, generating a record turnover of Euro 1.61 billion. The USA was once again the number one reference market, followed by those of Germany, China, Japan, the UK, and Italy, with the forecast of China leaping into second place in 2021.
Lamborghini proved it is able to react to the impact of the pandemic with considerable energy, flexibility and determination thanks to its immediate responsiveness, attentive cost management and continuity in its launch plan, together with the growing attractiveness of its products. The pandemic forced production to be stopped for 70 days last spring.
Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman & CEO, commented, “2021 opened with a very positive outlook: deliveries in the first two months of this year have already surpassed those of the previous pre-pandemic period, and the orders placed thus far already cover nine months of production.”
The excellent trend was accompanied by the sales launch of the Huracán STO - Super Trofeo Omologata model, the new luxury super sports car inspired by the sports tradition of the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO and the Huracán GT3 EVO, which will be followed by two more product novelties based on the iconic V12 in the months to come.
